Meet the One Soul Yoga instructors

Clay Pirtle
My yoga journey started in 2012.  I was a head boys varsity basketball coach and got reassigned unexpectedly.  I was shattered and decided to take 1 year off from coaching and just teach.  A friend suggested I try yoga and meditation and that suggestion transformed my life.  I have been practicing yoga ever since.  I took a 200-hour yoga teaching training in the summer of 2017 with Mind Tribes, based in Houston at the time and now relocated to Boise, Idaho.  I have taught over 350 hours since becoming a certified teacher.  I love combining my years and experience as a teacher and coach along with my yoga training, and personal yoga practice to help people transform their lives!

Leah Conner
Leah has practiced yoga, off and on, for 25 years, but recently wanted to gain more knowledge about the actual history and lifestyle of yoga. She recently completed 200-hour yoga teacher certification and will begin 300-hour training this fall, with plans to bring positive energy and compassion to the mat for everyone from beginner level to advanced. Leah loves the ancient teachings and sharing how yoga can help with healing both physically and mentally, from physical and/or emotional trauma, and how yoga is a powerful tool for achieving overall health. Yoga is wonderful exercise, but it is so much more!
DeAnna McDearmont
DeAnna is a certified 200Hr RYT yoga instructor who completed her training through Purple Lotus with Melissa Threlkeld. She is also currently pursuing her 300-hour level training. DeAnna initially began practicing yoga after a shoulder injury and was amazed at the results she saw. She has a background in theater and has taught theater classes and directed many plays and musicals over the years. DeAnna often uses mediation and yoga cool down techniques with her cast and loves the positive impact it has both physically and mentally in all ages. Now that she is certified to teach yoga, she is interested in sharing her knowledge with others. DeAnna believes everyone can benefit from yoga!
Rachel Finney
I began practicing yoga in 2014 at Brick House Yoga in Sulphur Springs.  I was training for a half-marathon at the time and wanted to use yoga to prevent injury and aid in stress relief to reduce migraine headaches.  While a yoga practice was perfect for both of these goals, I found so much more on the mat.  Without a doubt, the yoga mat is the first place I have ever experienced complete non-judgment.  It is where I learned self-acceptance.  It is where I learned to be present.  It is where I learned to be still.  And it is where I started a journey of self-discovery that I continue today.  In short, yoga changed my life. I recently earned my 200-hour yoga teacher certification through Purple Lotus with Melissa Pierce, my former instructor at Brick House.  I begin my 300-hour yoga teacher certification in October, and I plan to pick up specialized certifications in restorative yoga, kids’ yoga, and trauma-informed yoga.  Owning a yoga studio has been a dream of mine for several years now, and I am excited to begin our new adventure at One Soul Yoga in Sulphur Springs.
Allison Martin
I am a wife, girl mom, nature lover and adventure seeker.  I received my 200Hr RYT certification in August 2019 from Purple Lotus Yoga.  I found my love for yoga purely by accident in 2012 when I was looking to change up my usual workout routine.  As I attended classes, workshops and retreats I found that there was so much more to yoga than just the physical aspect and started noticing a change in my mental well-being and overall health.  While I love a sweaty power flow class, I also enjoy a nice relaxing restorative class and pretty much everything in between!  I hope to share my love for yoga with others as I continue to grow in my own practice. When I’m not on the mat I enjoy traveling and exploring new places, reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors.
